How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Generator Fitter
    Grays, Thurrock | Up to £18 per Hour + Overtime | Permanent Position
    A leading provider of temporary accommodation, welfare units and modular building solutions is seeking an experienced Generator Fitter to join its depot operation in Grays, Thurrock. Supporting a wide range of sectors including construction, infrastructure, education and commercial industries, the business has built a strong reputation for delivering reliable equipment and exceptional customer service.
    This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled generator engineer to join a busy depot team and play a key role in maintaining and servicing a modern fleet of generators and welfare units, ensuring equipment remains safe, compliant and available for hire.
    Key Responsibilities
    Carry out planned maintenance, servicing and repairs on a fleet of generators ranging from 25kVA to 100kVA.
    Diagnose and rectify mechanical and electrical faults on generators and associated equipment.
    Ensure all equipment is maintained to a high standard and ready for customer deployment.
    Support the depot operational team with maintenance and preparation of temporary buildings and welfare units.
    Carry out installation, repair and adjustment of plumbing, electrical systems and general fixtures and fittings where required.
    Complete service documentation and maintenance records accurately.
    Maintain a safe working environment and adhere to all Health & Safety procedures.
    Assist with general depot engineering activities as required.Essential Requirements
    Time-served Generator Engineer or relevant engineering qualification.
    Proven experience servicing, maintaining and repairing generators up to 117kVA.
    Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding abilities.
    Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively.
    Good understanding of Health & Safety requirements within an engineering environment.
    Strong work ethic and willingness to work in an outdoor environment throughout the year.What's on Offer

    Overtime paid at 1.5x basic hourly rate.
    45-hour working week, Monday to Friday.
