A well-established engineering consultancy is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join its growing Newcastle office. This is an opportunity to play a leading role in the delivery of innovative building services projects across a diverse range of sectors, whilst benefiting from hybrid working and a supportive, collaborative environment.
As a Senior Electrical Design Engineer, you will take ownership of electrical building services designs from concept through to completion, working closely with clients, directors, and multidisciplinary design teams.

You'll be involved in a broad portfolio of projects across the Commercial, Industrial, Education, Healthcare, and wider public and private sectors, delivering high-quality engineering solutions that meet both client expectations and technical standards.

Key responsibilities include:

·Leading the electrical design of building services projects.
·Attending client meetings and developing M&E project requirements.
·Preparing and reviewing electrical design specifications and technical reports.
·Producing surveys and reports on existing electrical installations.
·Preparing estimates and cost plans for electrical works.
·Coordinating with internal and external design team members.
·Supporting the delivery of projects through post-contract stages.
·Working alongside Associate Directors and Directors to support the technical delivery of projects.
We're looking for a technically strong engineer who enjoys solving complex challenges and building lasting relationships with clients and colleagues.

To be successful in this role, you should have:

·Strong experience across all aspects of electrical building services engineering.
·Proven ability to make informed technical decisions and manage project responsibilities.
·Experience working within consultancy environments across public and private sector projects.
·Excellent knowledge of electrical design software and industry standards.
·The ability to collaborate effectively with other professional disciplines.
·An HNC, HND, Degree, or equivalent qualification in a relevant engineering discipline.
·A strong understanding of health and safety requirements within the construction industry.
