How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Step into a critical defense infrastructure role, managing high-level electrical compliance and leading site teams for a leading global Facilities Management provider.

Are you a senior M&E Engineer with a strong background in defense infrastructure and a deep understanding of military technical frameworks?

A leading company in the Facilities Management industry is urgently recruiting a permanent Senior M&E Engineer / Shift Supervisor to manage operations at a high-profile defense asset in Gloucestershire. This vital position sits at the heart of base compliance, technical delivery, and safety enforcement. Because this role manages critical infrastructure, having an established understanding of JSP375 protocols and a background in defense infrastructure is essential.

If you are a rigorous, safety-minded technical leader looking for a rewarding, long-term career with fully funded progression into higher-level Authorised Person (AP) status, this urgent vacancy is your next step.
The Role As an M&E Engineer, you’ll:

Enforce Rigorous Compliance: Play a crucial role in ensuring all electrical and mechanical maintenance obligations are delivered on time and in full compliance with JSP375 standards.
Assess Competency & Author RAMS: Review and assess the technical competence of site personnel while producing high-quality Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) for complex operations.
Provide Professional Safe Systems Advice: Deliver expert internal advice regarding MoD Safe Systems of Work, identifying asset deficiencies and working closely with the Senior Management Team to protect estate safety.
Supervise & Coach Site Teams: Provide direct supervision, training assessments, and professional mentoring to Skilled Persons and technicians, ensuring they operate safely within stringent defense regulations.
Collaborate Across Stakeholders: Act as a core technical liaison between site operational teams, supply chain partners, contractors, and public sector stakeholders to ensure seamless operational delivery and carbon reduction initiatives. You
To be successful in the role of M&E Engineer, you’ll bring:

Mandatory Defense Background: You must come from a background in defense infrastructure maintenance and possess a solid, demonstrable understanding of JSP375 compliance.
Core Technical Qualifications: Fully qualified as an Electrical Engineer with a proven track record operating at a senior or supervisory level (managing resources, technical site operations, or teams).
AP Status & Salary Banding: Holding active Electrical or Mechanical Authorised Person (AP) tickets is highly preferred and will unlock the top end of the salary banding (£45,000). However, if you are a senior defense engineer without active tickets, the company is fully prepared to fund and support you through all necessary AP training.
Logistics & Demeanor: Confident working independently with top-tier problem-solving skills, a full UK driving license for mobile site duties, and the flexibility to support a rare out-of-hours on-call rota if required. What's in it for you? This business is an industry leader in estate management, widely recognised for offering exceptional job security, technical support structures, and deep investments into employee training.
    This permanent position offers:

A competitive basic salary of £42,000 - £45,000 per year
A Company Car or cash Car Allowance.
Highly structured, stable working hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (with rare out-of-hours demands).
A 6% employee-matched pension contribution and 25 days annual leave.
Fully funded, single Private Medical Cover.
A clear, fully funded roadmap to acquire further nationally recognized technical qualifications. Apply Now! This is an URGENT operational requirement with interviews happening immediately.
