How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    A well-established multidisciplinary construction consultancy based in Sidcup is seeking a motivated and ambitious Graduate Quantity Surveyor to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a Graduate Quantity Surveyor looking to develop their career within a supportive environment, working on a diverse range of construction projects while receiving structured professional development and mentorship.

    The Graduate Quantity Surveyor's Role

    The successful Graduate Quantity Surveyor will join an experienced Quantity Surveying team and gain exposure to projects across multiple sectors including residential, commercial, education, healthcare, and industrial developments.

    Working alongside senior surveyors, the Graduate Quantity Surveyor will assist with cost planning, procurement, valuations, contract administration, and final accounts. A key aspect of this position will be the preparation and management of Bills of Quantities, making previous Bill of Quantities experience essential for the role.

    This position offers excellent long-term career prospects, hands-on project involvement, and support towards achieving professional qualifications and chartership.

    The Graduate Quantity Surveyor - Requirements

    Degree in Quantity Surveying or a RICS-accredited equivalent
    Previous placement, internship, or graduate experience within Quantity Surveying
    Bill of Quantities experience is essential
    Strong numerical, analytical, and communication skills
    Good understanding of construction contracts and cost management principles
    Ambition to work towards MRICS chartership
    Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
    Full UK driving licence preferred
    Professional, enthusiastic, and eager to learn
