How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Street Works Coordinator – Utilities & Infrastructure

    Job Summary

    Responsible for the coordination, submission, monitoring, and closure of all street works notices, permits, and related documentation required to support utility and infrastructure projects.

    Work closely with project delivery teams, supervisors, planners, clients, subcontractors, and local authorities to ensure works are delivered in accordance with programme requirements, regulatory obligations, and client expectations.

    Provide effective planning, coordination, administration, and compliance support to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and without unnecessary delays or penalties.

    Principal Responsibilities

    Health & Safety

    Prepare and maintain clear and accurate documentation to support safe project delivery.

    Ensure permits and notices are active, valid, and aligned with project programmes.

    Monitor permit durations and arrange extensions or closures as required.

    Support compliance with street works legislation, permit requirements, and industry regulations.

    Client & Stakeholder Management

    Deliver a high standard of customer service to clients, local authorities, and stakeholders.

    Communicate potential issues, delays, and programme changes in a timely and professional manner.

    Manage enquiries and complaints, ensuring appropriate updates are provided to all relevant parties.

    Coordinate project activities alongside delivery teams to ensure operational requirements are met.

    Maintain effective communication with project managers, supervisors, planners, and operational teams.

    Support the investigation and mitigation of compliance issues, defects, and penalty notices.

    Planning & Coordination

    Coordinate all street works notices, permits, applications, and related regulatory submissions.

    Monitor and maintain permit systems and project records to ensure compliance.

    Track live notices and project activities to prevent programme overruns and associated costs.

    Identify resource requirements and communicate workload pressures to operational management.

    Support the planning and scheduling of project activities to maximise efficiency and client satisfaction.

    Assist with the management and closure of project defects and outstanding works.

    Teamwork & Collaboration

    Build positive working relationships with colleagues, clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies.

    Support project teams through effective communication and coordination.

    Promote a collaborative approach to project delivery and problem resolution.

    Quality & Operational Excellence

    Deliver accurate, timely, and high-quality project administration.

    Ensure project documentation, work packs, and handover information are prepared to required standards.

    Maintain accurate records of permits, notices, applications, completions, and project correspondence.

    Monitor compliance performance and identify opportunities for improvement.

    Support the achievement of operational targets through effective planning and coordination.

    Continuous Improvement & Sustainability

    Promote efficient working practices and process improvements.

    Support digital and paperless working initiatives where practical.

    Identify opportunities to improve compliance, planning processes, and service delivery.

    Person Specification

    Qualifications & Experience

    Minimum 3 years' experience within the utilities, infrastructure, construction, or street works sector.

    Minimum 3 years' experience in a planning, coordination, administration, or project support role.

    Experience managing permits, notices, regulatory submissions, or project documentation desirable.

    Experience working with street works legislation and permit schemes desirable.

    Skills & Knowledge

    Strong understanding of utilities, infrastructure, or construction project environments.

    Proficient in Microsoft Office and digital project management systems.

    Excellent planning, organisational, and administrative skills.

    Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

    Ability to interpret project information, drawings, and programme requirements.

    Analytical problem-solving skills and the ability to identify practical solutions.
