How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Lead Internal Quality Assurer (IQA)

    Location: Hull (with travel to additional sites as required)
    Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
    Salary: £40,990 per annum

    About the Role

    We are seeking an experienced Lead Internal Quality Assurer (IQA) to organise, manage, and maintain internal quality assurance processes across the organisation's training and assessment provision.

    The successful candidate will ensure assessment decisions are fair, valid, reliable, and consistent, while ensuring compliance with the requirements of awarding organisations including EAL, City & Guilds, ECITB, TWI, JTL (CompEx), and Pearson Edexcel Higher National Programmes.

    This role plays a key part in embedding a strong culture of quality throughout the organisation, supporting IQAs, assessors, and trainers, and driving continuous improvement across learning and assessment activities.

    Please note that Apprenticeship End Point Assessment provision sits separately to this role and is managed independently.

    Key Responsibilities

    Lead and coordinate internal quality assurance activity across the organisation.
    Maintain effective internal quality assurance systems and processes.
    Ensure assessment decisions are fair, consistent, valid, and compliant with awarding body standards.
    Support and guide IQAs, assessors, and trainers to maintain high standards of delivery and assessment.
    Lead standardisation meetings and quality improvement activities.
    Monitor quality performance and implement continuous improvement actions where required.
    Prepare for and support external quality assurance activities and inspections.
    Ensure compliance with awarding organisation requirements and regulatory standards.
    Promote and embed a positive culture of quality across the training provision.

    About You

    To be successful in this role, you will have significant experience in a similar position within an education or training environment, ideally with an engineering background.

    Essential Criteria

    Recognised Internal Quality Assurance qualification (e.g. Level 4 Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice or equivalent).
    Teaching qualification.
    Engineering trade discipline qualification to a minimum Level 3.
    Significant experience as an IQA within a training provider environment.
    Strong knowledge of awarding organisation requirements and external quality assurance processes.
    Experience of leading standardisation and quality improvement activities.
    Strong craft and technical skills.
    Good interpersonal and communication skills.
    Basic computer literacy.
    A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle, as travel between sites is required.

    Working Hours

    Monday - Thursday: 8:00am - 4:15pm
    Friday: 8:00am - 4:00pm
