Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured and upcoming work, they are looking to strengthen their estimating function with the appointment of a talented Estimator.
The Role
Reporting to the Pre-Construction Manager, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive tender submissions, supporting the successful delivery of projects ranging from £10m to £100m+ in value.
Working closely with operational, commercial, and design teams, you will play a key role in securing future projects and supporting business growth.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare detailed cost estimates and tender submissions.
* Review tender documentation, specifications, drawings, and employer requirements.
* Undertake quantity take-offs and pricing exercises.
* Obtain and analyse subcontractor and supplier quotations.
* Identify risks, opportunities, and value engineering solutions.
* Support bid strategy and settlement meetings.
* Liaise with clients, consultants, supply chain partners, and internal stakeholders.
* Maintain accurate records of estimates and tender documentation.
* Monitor market trends, material costs, and procurement opportunities.
Requirements
* Previous experience as an Estimator within the construction industry.
* Experience working for a Main Contractor on building projects.
* Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.
* Ability to interpret construction drawings and technical specifications.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and estimating software packages.
Desirable
* Experience working on projects valued between £10m and £100m+.
* Tier 1 or large regional contractor background.
* Construction-related qualification (HNC, HND, Degree or equivalent).
* Knowledge of JCT and NEC forms of contract.
