How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Graduate Civil Engineer

    Location: Cardiff

    An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Graduate Civil Engineer to join a well-established and expanding Civil and Structural Engineering consultancy in Cardiff.

    This role is ideal for a recent Civil Engineering graduate looking to gain hands-on experience, develop technical expertise and build a long-term career within a supportive and ambitious business. You’ll work alongside experienced engineers on a diverse range of infrastructure and development projects while benefiting from structured training and mentorship.

    The Role

    As a Graduate Civil Engineer, you will become part of a collaborative team delivering innovative engineering solutions across a variety of sectors, including residential, commercial and mixed-use developments.

    You’ll gain exposure to all stages of project delivery, from initial design through to construction, providing an excellent platform to develop your technical and professional skills.

    This position offers a clear pathway towards professional chartership and long-term career progression within a growing consultancy.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Assist with the design and delivery of civil engineering projects.

    * Prepare engineering calculations, drawings and technical reports.

    * Support the design of highways, drainage and infrastructure schemes.

    * Work closely with senior engineers and project teams on a variety of developments.

    * Attend site visits, inspections and project meetings.

    * Contribute to project delivery from concept design through to completion.

    * Develop your technical knowledge through practical project experience and ongoing training.
