How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    We're looking for a steady, experienced professional who can demonstrate longevity with previous employers and a proven history of delivering similar packages on major projects. This is a complex, high-profile development valued at approximately £250m, requiring an individual who is comfortable managing large workforces, coordinating multiple stakeholders, and maintaining programme certainty throughout delivery.

    The role offers a highly competitive PAYE day rate of up to £550 per day for the successful candidate, structured to provide strong take-home earnings while benefiting from PAYE engagement.

    This Package Manager position is focused on the management and delivery of an extensive internal brickwork and blockwork package during the fit-out phase of a major city-centre development.

    You will be responsible for overseeing all day-to-day package activities, ensuring works are delivered safely, to programme, and to the required quality standards. Working closely with site leadership, subcontractors, and project teams, you will play a key role in maintaining productivity and driving package performance.

    * Coordinate subcontractors, labour, materials, and site logistics
    * Monitor programme performance and identify opportunities to maintain key milestones
    * Ensure works are delivered in accordance with quality and safety standards
    * Conduct regular inspections and manage package-related snagging and quality issues
    * Liaise with project management teams, consultants, and subcontractors to resolve technical and operational challenges
    * Maintain accurate records of package progress and reporting requirements
    * Support planning and sequencing activities to ensure efficient delivery across multiple work fronts

    Requirements for Package Manager

    * CSCS Card
    * First Aid at Work
    * Demonstrable experience managing large internal masonry packages on major construction projects
    * Previous experience working on projects valued in excess of £100m preferred
    * Strong understanding of internal fit-out delivery and programme management
    * Proven ability to manage subcontractors and coordinate multiple trades simultaneously
    * Evidence of longevity and stability throughout your career history
    * Strong communication and leadership skills

    About the company

    You'll be joining a leading main contractor with a proven track record delivering large-scale commercial, mixed-use, and regeneration projects across the UK. The business is recognised for delivering complex schemes to a high standard while maintaining a collaborative approach with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners.
