How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Science Teacher – Braintree Area (4 Days Per Week, September Start)

    Gold Education Recruitment is currently working with a well-regarded secondary school in the Braintree area, seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Science Teacher to join their department on a part-time basis from September.

    This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate educator to teach Science within a supportive and forward-thinking school environment. The role is offered on a 4-day-per-week basis, making it ideal for teachers seeking a positive work-life balance while remaining fully involved in school life and student progress.

    What You'll Be Doing:

    • Teaching Science across KS3 and KS4
    • Planning and delivering engaging, curriculum-aligned lessons
    • Supporting students to develop analytical, investigative, and practical scientific skills
    • Preparing students for GCSE examinations
    • Assessing work and providing clear, constructive feedback
    • Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies
    • Monitoring student progress and implementing strategies to support achievement
    • Working collaboratively within a supportive and successful Science department

    What We're Looking For:

    • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
    • Experience teaching Science in a UK secondary school or college
    • Strong subject knowledge across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics at KS3 and KS4
    • An engaging and adaptable teaching approach
    • Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
    • Strong communication and classroom management skills
    • Professional, reliable, and adaptable attitude
    • ECTs and experienced teachers are welcome to apply
