How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    We're looking for a Survey CAD Modelling Technician to join our KierBAM JV 10 Docks Civil Engineering Project team based in Devonport Royal Docks, Plymouth.

    Location: Devonport Royal Docks, Plymouth
    Hours: Full-time - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

    We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role.

    Due to the sensitive nature of the site, BPSS security clearance is required. Please note that this process can take up to 8 weeks. Eligibility criteria: Candidates must hold a passport from a NATO or MISWG member country and have resided in the UK for the past 5 years.

    This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic civil engineering project where you'll play a vital role in supporting survey engineers by processing raw data gathered from site surveys and completing survey modelling requests. With a particular focus on processing laser scanner surveys, you'll be working with cutting-edge technology to ensure construction tolerances are met to the highest standards.

    What will you be responsible for?

    As a Survey CAD Modelling Technician, you'll be working within the survey engineering team, supporting them in delivering accurate and timely survey data processing and modelling services. Your day-to-day will include:

    Verifying and processing survey data from field surveyors, including total station surveys to report on construction stages

    Processing laser scanning surveys, cleaning and modelling data to determine if construction tolerances have been met

    Ensuring survey data is collected and recorded accurately, following project quality assurance and quality control standards

    Providing drawing and modelling services to support the survey, engineering and construction teams

    Managing and archiving survey files and records using the project's document management system

    What are we looking for?

    This role of Survey CAD Modelling Technician is great for you if:

    You hold a degree, diploma, or relevant qualification in Civil Engineering, Surveying, Architecture, or Construction

    You have strong skills in AutoCAD (Civil3D) and Revit, with 3-5 years of experience in a similar position within the construction industry

    You possess an understanding of BIM or digital construction processes and document control requirements

    You have excellent attention to detail, organisational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team

    You hold a CSCS Card and relevant site safety qualifications, and are a member of CInstCES or working towards membership
