Service Controller
Purpose of the Role
The primary purpose of the Service Controller is to coordinate and support the effective delivery of service operations, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction and efficient utilisation of engineering resources.
Roles & Responsibilities
The main duties and responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
- Coordinate the scheduling and communication of service activities, including arranging travel and accommodation for Service Engineers when required.
- Allocate work schedules and service assignments to engineers.
- Prepare and issue job reports, service documentation and customer reports.
- Communicate work schedules and service requirements to engineering personnel.
- Act as a key point of contact for customers, providing updates and responding to enquiries.
- Compile, complete and present service reports to customers.
- Manage and process warranty claims.
- Review and manage engineer timesheets.
- Coordinate and administer annual leave requests for engineering personnel.
- Maintain accurate service records and documentation.
- Ensure high standards of housekeeping and organisation within the department.
- Support business development activities by assisting the sales team and helping to identify opportunities within the existing customer base.
- Undertake any additional duties as reasonably required.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Previous experience within a service, scheduling or coordination environment.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships with customers and colleagues.
- Excellent administrative and organisational skills with a high level of attention to detail.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Ability to prioritise workload effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
Desirable
- Familiarity with purchasing processes and supplier coordination.
- Experience supporting customers across multiple locations or on a national basis.
- Experience coordinating field-based engineers or service personnel.
- Experience working within an engineering, industrial or technical service environment.
