How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Advocate Group is proud to represent a leading premium interiors manufacturer in their search for a Quality Improvement Lead to join their Group team - Spread across 2 sites (East + West Manchester)


    The Business:

    The Role:

    We are looking for a candidate who can make their mark by driving quality improvements across the manufacturing operation and ensuring products are delivered right first time. Here's how:

    • Lead initiatives to improve Right First Time (RFT) performance and support On Time In Full (OTIF) delivery.
    • Investigate recurring quality issues using root cause analysis, implementing effective corrective and preventative actions.
    • Analyse and report on quality trends, identifying opportunities to reduce defects, waste, and rework.
    • Act as the central point for quality data, collaborating with production, procurement, technical teams, and factory leadership.
    • Support audits, quality checks, and adherence to standard operating procedures across the factory.
    • Coach and influence colleagues to strengthen quality awareness and drive continuous improvement initiatives.


    About You:

    • Previous experience within a quality-focused role in a manufacturing or production environment.
    • Proven ability to investigate non-conformances and implement sustainable corrective actions.
    • Experience delivering continuous improvement projects that reduce defects, scrap, or rework.
    • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and translate findings into practical actions.
    • Confident communicator, capable of building relationships and influencing stakeholders at all levels.
    • Exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or quality management systems such as ISO 9001 would be advantageous.
    • A qualification in Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, or Operations would be beneficial.
