Role Summary:
To support the production and delivery of Hemming’s specialist B2B publications and associated print and digital products, ensuring high standards of design, accuracy and deadline management.
Core Responsibilities:
Editorial
- Produce and amend page layouts in line with publication templates and house styles, liaising with Editors and Publishers
- Prepare accurate print-ready PDFs for publication, including formatting images and checking fonts, and carry out pre-publication checks to ensure standards are met
- Ensure deadlines are understood and met
Sales/Marketing support
- Where requested, design of adverts/branding/brochures – print and digital collateral
- Maintain organised file management and archive systems for production assets for future use by others in the company
- Design and proofing of advertorial pages/classified pages
- Layout, design and proofing of supplements
Production support
Assist with layout, design, editing or technical support as necessary for the Production department and the wider Hemming team. Support the production of digital publishing assets where required.
Person Specification:
· Must have demonstrable experience of using the Adobe Creative Cloud suite (including Acrobat, Photoshop, InDesign) to an advanced level
· Working knowledge of Illustrator is preferred but not essential
· Relevant Adobe certifications are welcomed but not essential
· Experience within magazine, newspaper or B2B publishing environments is preferred
· Exceptional attention to detail
· Excellent written and spoken English skills
· Confident working across shared digital publishing workflows
· Must be able to manage their own time and work independently/remotely as well as being part of the production/studio team and the wider Hemming team
· Able to manage multiple publications and competing deadlines simultaneously
· Any experience that the candidate has with subediting and proofreading is desirable
