How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    I am currently working with a fact paced, outstanding East London based secondary school who are looking to appoint an aspiring English teacher to work as a teaching assistant. The successful applicant will be working with students of various abilities with a focus on supporting students with Literacy work.

    This would be a great positon for an English graduate who is considering a career in teaching and would like to use the teaching assistant role as a way to gain invaluable hands on experience.

    The school are looking for a graduate who has an English related Degree and some form of paid or voluntary experience with young people. You may have gained your experience through a number of different avenues.

    As a teaching assistant, you will be working with students ranging from Year 7 - sixth form with a focus on Literacy support. You will be working with pupils in small groups and on a 1:1 basis.

    Each academic year this East London secondary school appoint a small number of graduates who are passionate about working with young people and are considering a career in teaching. A high number of these graduates then go on to do their teacher training the following year.

    During the year, you will also have the opportunity to work with closely with various experienced teachers giving you the opportunity to observe different teaching styles and techniques.

    The school was most recently graded Outstanding by Ofsted and is the ideal supportive environment for graduates embarking on their teaching career.
