How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Manchester

    A specialist Building Surveying and Project Consultancy practice is looking to appoint an ambitious Associate Director - Building Surveyor to join their growing Manchester team.

    Operating across the UK with multiple offices, alongside an established international presence, this is an opportunity for a commercially minded Chartered Building Surveyor to play a key role in the continued growth of the Manchester office.
    This role is ideally suited to someone who enjoys developing client relationships, winning work, and helping shape the future direction of a business.

    The Opportunity - Associate Director - Building Surveyor
    You'll work closely with the leadership team to drive growth across the Manchester office, leading projects, developing key client relationships and identifying new business opportunities.
    The business has a strong reputation within the commercial property sector, and is particularly interested in individuals with experience across:

    Commercial offices
    Retail
    Industrial and logistics
    Warehouse developments
    High end residentialKey Responsibilities as Associate Director - Building Surveyor

    Lead and develop client relationships across the North West and beyond.
    Generate new business opportunities and secure additional fee income.
    Lead and deliver high value Building Surveying and Project Consultancy instructions.
    Support and mentor junior surveyors and project teams.
    Contribute to the strategic growth of the Manchester office.
    Manage projects from inception through to completion.
    Expand existing client accounts and identify new business opportunities.What We're Looking For

    MRICS Chartered Building Surveyor.
    Proven experience operating at Senior Surveyor, Associate, Associate Director or Director level.
    Strong business development capability.
