How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Job Title: Mechanical & Electrical Supervisor

    Location: Wincanton, Somerset

    Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8am – 5pm

    Salary: £44,000 per annum + Overtime + Call out package

    About the Role:

    I am seeking a skilled and experienced Supervisor to join my client’s team, to be based at a large commercial building in Somerset. In this role, you will primarily oversee a team of 4 maintenance staff who perform maintenance tasks managed via PDA. You will spend 70% of your time off the tools, focusing on leadership / supervisory duties, with the flexibility to assist with hands-on PPM (Planned Preventative Maintenance) and reactive maintenance tasks when necessary for technical support.

    Key Responsibilities:

    * Lead and manage the day-to-day activities of a team of engineers and contractors, ensuring all tasks are completed to a high standard.

    * Assist with PPM and reactive maintenance tasks when required for technical support, ensuring all work is carried out safely and efficiently.

    * Monitor and track KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) to ensure service delivery meets or exceeds contract requirements.

    * Ensure Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are consistently met, taking proactive measures to address any issues.

    * Manage and enforce RAMs (Risk Assessment Method Statements) and ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations.

    * Conduct regular audits to ensure maintenance tasks are performed to the highest standards and within compliance guidelines.

    * Provide technical support to the engineering team to assist with M&E planned & reactive repair/maintenance tasks.

    What They Offer:

    Requirements:

    * Trade qualification in Electrical (Level 3 ideally)

    * Proven experience in a similar M&E Maintenance Supervisory or Leadership role.

    * Knowledge of PPM, reactive maintenance of M&E systems

    * Excellent leadership and communication skills.

    * Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
