How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Head of Digital Platforms with a background in B2B e-commerce is sought by a high growth industrial retailer based in the Midlands on a contract basis.

    With an aggressive M&A strategy in full swing this business have acquired a 5m TO e-commerce brand and are looking for a commercially minded Head of Digital Platforms to become the senior technology leader responsible for the acquired digital business.

    This is a unique opportunity to take ownership of an established e-commerce platform, evaluate its technical landscape, lead a growing team, and help shape the future digital strategy of the wider group.

    This is not a traditional software engineering leadership role. Instead, we're seeking someone who understands how successful online businesses are built, scaled and optimised-from customer experience and platform architecture through to integrations, reporting, operational efficiency and team leadership.

    This Head of Digital Platforms should have most of the following key skills:

    - A strong technical background with e-commerce development
    - experience building, launching or scaling e-commerce platforms
    - Strong understanding of digital architecture, integrations and platform ecosystems
    - Experience managing digital, technology or product teams
    - Excellent stakeholder management and leadership skills
    - Strong analytical and reporting capability with experience creating meaningful business insight
    - Experience working with platforms such as Shopify, Magento, WooCommerce or similar
    - Knowledge of CRM, ERP, payment, fulfilment and marketplace integrations
    - Commercial acumen and the ability to balance technical and business priorities
    - Experience within a growing SME, scale-up or multi-site business would be highly advantageous
