How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to join a growing Building Design team, supporting the delivery of a diverse portfolio of infrastructure and building projects. This opportunity offers flexibility on location and the chance to work within a highly collaborative multidisciplinary environment.

    The Role

As a Civil Engineer, you will contribute to the civil design, development and delivery of small to medium-sized infrastructure projects within the buildings sector. You will be involved in the design, analysis and coordination of drainage systems, roads, car parks, utilities, earthworks and associated civil engineering infrastructure, working closely with architects, structural engineers and other design disciplines to deliver high-quality civil design solutions.

This role is well suited to a Civil Engineer with strong technical design experience who is looking to further develop their civil design and engineering skills across a broad range of projects while working towards professional chartership. You will play an important role in the planning, coordination and delivery of civil design packages throughout the project lifecycle.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Contribute to the delivery of infrastructure and building projects as part of a multidisciplinary civil design team.
    • Produce civil engineering designs in accordance with relevant UK standards, regulations and design codes.
    • Deliver drainage, utilities, earthworks, access and external works designs.
    • Undertake civil design activities for roads, car parks, paved and unpaved surfaces associated with building developments.
    • Prepare and coordinate civil design calculations, drawings and technical documentation.
    • Support the development and delivery of innovative design solutions for building and infrastructure projects.
    • Ensure high-quality civil engineering design outputs are delivered efficiently and accurately.
    • Manage personal workload and design deliverables effectively.
    • Work collaboratively with internal teams, clients and external stakeholders throughout the design process.
    • Comply with quality assurance, technical governance and project procedures.
    • Support the implementation of BIM standards, Digital Plan of Work requirements and project BIM Execution Plans.
    • Assist with the coordination and review of civil design information across multidisciplinary project teams.
    • Contribute to the continuous improvement of civil engineering design processes and project delivery standards.

    Requirements

    • Proven experience as a Civil Design Engineer
    • Experience delivering civil engineering design packages within the buildings sector.
    • Strong drainage design experience.
    • Proficiency with InfoDrainage, Flow or equivalent drainage modelling software.
    • Experience designing roads, access routes and car parks.
    • Competent user of AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
    • Degree or HND in Civil Engineering, or equivalent experience.
    • Good understanding of current UK design standards and engineering best practice.
    • Existing right to work and live in UK without sponsorship visa

    Desirable Experience

    • Revit and BIM 360 experience.
    • Experience obtaining statutory approvals and liaising with regulatory bodies.
    • Experience delivering building-related civil engineering projects rather than highways, rail or utility-focused schemes.
    • Ability to obtain Security Clearance.
    • Full UK Driving Licence.
    • Chartered Engineer status.

    What's on Offer

    • Flexible working location across multiple UK offices.
    • Hybrid working arrangement.
    • Opportunity to work on a diverse range of building and infrastructure projects.
    • Supportive and collaborative technical environment.
    • Long-term opportunities with a globally recognised engineering consultancy.
