How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Design and Technology Teacher

    Location: Medway, Kent

    Salary: £120 - £250 per day (depending on experience and pay scale)

    Start date: September 2026

    Contract: Full-time

    Are you a creative and enthusiastic Design and Technology Teacher looking for an exciting opportunity within a forward-thinking secondary school?

    GSL Education Kent is currently recruiting for a dedicated Design and Technology Teacher to join a thriving secondary school in Medway from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Design and Technology Teacher or a confident ECT who is passionate about inspiring the next generation of designers, engineers, and innovators.

    The successful Design and Technology Teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging and practical lessons that encourage creativity, problem-solving, and technical skills. You will help students develop confidence in designing, making, and evaluating products while supporting them in achieving their full academic potential.

    The ideal Design and Technology Teacher will have:

    Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
    Experience teaching Design and Technology at secondary level
    Strong subject knowledge across Design and Technology disciplines
    The ability to plan and deliver engaging, practical, and differentiated lessons
    Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
    Strong organisational and communication abilities
    A passion for developing students' creativity, technical skills, and confidence
    A commitment to supporting student progress and achievement
