How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Senior Architect

Conrad Consulting are proud to be working in partnership with a highly respected, RIBA Chartered architectural practice, with studios in both York and London, to recruit a talented Senior Architect to join their growing team.

This medium-sized practice has established an outstanding reputation for delivering distinctive, high-quality projects across the high-end bespoke residential and boutique hospitality sectors. Their London portfolio includes "Super Prime" residential developments in prestigious locations such as Mayfair and Chelsea, while their hospitality work focuses on creating immersive, experience-led environments that combine exceptional design with technical excellence.

As the practice continues to expand, they are seeking an experienced Senior Architect to play a key role in leading projects, mentoring team members, and ensuring the successful delivery of complex, design-led schemes from inception through to completion.

    The Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a well-rounded Senior Architect with strong technical, delivery and leadership capabilities. You will take responsibility for managing projects through all RIBA work stages, overseeing design development, technical coordination, consultant management and project delivery.

Working closely with Directors, clients and wider project teams, you will lead projects from early concept stages through planning, technical design and construction, ensuring design intent is maintained whilst delivering commercially successful outcomes.

You will also play an important role within the studio, supporting and mentoring junior team members, contributing to project resourcing and helping to maintain the high standards for which the practice is renowned.

    Who They're Looking For

The ideal candidate will be an accomplished Architect with significant experience delivering complex projects within the UK. Whilst an appreciation for high-quality design is important, this role requires a strong technical grounding, excellent project management skills and the ability to confidently lead multidisciplinary teams.

You will be comfortable managing client relationships, coordinating consultants and contractors, and resolving technical challenges throughout the project lifecycle.

The practice is seeking an ambitious and proactive individual who enjoys taking ownership of projects, thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about delivering exceptional architecture.

    Key Requirements

ARB/RIBA registered Architect with approximately 8+ years' post-qualification experience within UK practice

Proven experience leading projects through multiple RIBA stages, ideally from concept through to completion

Strong technical and detailing knowledge with experience producing and reviewing technical information

Excellent understanding of UK Building Regulations, planning processes and construction methodologies

Demonstrable experience managing consultants, client relationships and project programmes

    Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities

Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit (experience with BIM workflows advantageous)

Previous experience within high-end residential and/or hospitality sectors would be highly desirable

Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills

    What's on Offer

    Competitive salary: £48,000 - £50,000 DOE

25 days holiday plus additional benefits including life insurance, critical illness cover, death in service, pension contributions and professional fees paid

Clear progression opportunities towards Associate level

Flexible working arrangements within a collaborative and supportive studio environment

Opportunity to work on prestigious residential and hospitality projects across the UK and internationally

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Architect seeking greater responsibility within a highly regarded practice that combines outstanding design with technical excellence and project delivery expertise.
