How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    French Teacher – Chelmsford (2 Days Per Week, 1-Year Fixed-Term Contract)

    Gold Education Recruitment is currently working with a welcoming secondary school in Chelmsford, seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic French Teacher to join their Modern Foreign Languages department on a part-time basis.

    This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate linguist to teach French within a supportive and forward-thinking school environment. The role is offered on a 2-day-per-week basis and is available on a 1-year fixed-term contract, making it ideal for teachers seeking a flexible working arrangement.

    What You'll Be Doing:

    • Teaching French across KS3 and KS4
    • Planning and delivering engaging, curriculum-aligned lessons
    • Supporting students to develop confidence in speaking, listening, reading, and writing in French
    • Preparing students for GCSE examinations
    • Assessing work and providing clear, constructive feedback
    • Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies
    • Monitoring student progress and implementing strategies to support achievement
    • Working collaboratively within a supportive MFL department

    What We're Looking For:

    • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
    • Experience teaching French in a UK secondary school or college
    • Strong subject knowledge and an engaging teaching approach
    • Ability to inspire a love of languages and cultural understanding
    • Strong communication and classroom management skills
    • Professional, reliable, and adaptable attitude
    • ECTs and experienced teachers are welcome to apply
