Teach Now is seeking an experienced and confident SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Redbridge from September 2026.
This is an excellent opportunity for a capable support staff member who is ready to step into a busy school environment and make an immediate impact. The role has become available due to recent staff retirements and an increase in pupil support needs across the school.
The school is a lovely two-form entry primary with a nursery and a supportive staff team. It offers a positive working environment where experienced Teaching Assistants are valued and trusted to support pupils across EYFS, KS1, and KS2.
The Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
• Provide 1:1 classroom support for pupils with additional needs
• Support pupils who require consistent adult guidance
• Lead or assist with targeted afternoon intervention sessions
• Work within a dedicated intervention space
• Help pupils access learning and build confidence
• Support positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and engagement
• Work closely with class teachers, SEN staff, and school leaders
What Were Looking For
The ideal candidate will be someone with strong prior experience in a primary school setting who can step in confidently with minimal training.
Essential
• Proven experience working as a Teaching Assistant or SEN Teaching Assistant
• Strong experience supporting pupils with additional needs
• Confidence providing 1:1 support in the classroom
• Ability to support or deliver structured interventions
• Good behaviour management and relationship-building skills
• Calm, proactive, resilient, and professional approach
Desirable
• Experience across EYFS, KS1, or KS2
• Relevant Teaching Assistant, SEN, Childcare, or Education qualification
• Experience working in high-need support situations
