How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    HGV Technician – Workshop Based
    Location: Ely
    Salary: Up to £24 per hour
    Hours: 45 hours per week – Monday to Friday

    Are you an experienced HGV Technician looking for a secure, well-paid workshop role with excellent work-life balance? This is an exciting opportunity for an HGV Technician to join a well-established operation in Ely, offering strong earning potential, flexible hours, and long-term career stability.
    We are seeking a skilled HGV Technician to work in a fully equipped workshop, maintaining a modern mixed fleet and ensuring vehicles remain compliant, safe, and roadworthy. This HGV Technician role is ideal for someone with strong diagnostics and repair experience who wants a stable Monday-to-Friday position.
    The Role As an HGV Technician, you will be responsible for:

    Servicing, maintaining, and repairing a mixed HGV fleet including Mercedes, Scania, and Volvo
    Working on a range of trailers including single, double-deck, and flatbeds
    Carrying out inspections, diagnostics, repairs, and MOT preparation
    Ensuring all vehicles are roadworthy and fully compliant with safety and legal standards
    Identifying faults and completing repairs efficiently to minimise downtimeThis HGV Technician position offers a workshop-based environment with no roadside breakdown work, providing consistency and structure.
    Hours of Work
    Monday to Friday – 45 hours per week
    Flexible start and finish times available:
    6:00am – 3:30pm
    7:00am – 4:30pm
    8:00am – 5:30pm
    Optional Saturday mornings as requiredRequirements To be successful in this HGV Technician role, you will ideally have:

    Level 3 HGV / Vehicle Maintenance qualification (preferred)
    IRTEC accreditation (preferred, training available if not held)
    Class 1 (C+E) licence advantageous but not essential
    Strong diagnostic and mechanical repair skills
