How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    * Assess existing structures and identify structural defects or remedial requirements.

    * Compile clear, concise, and professional structural inspection reports.

    * Liaise with clients, architects, contractors, and other project stakeholders.

    * Ensure designs comply with relevant British Standards and Building Regulations.

    * Manage multiple projects and meet agreed deadlines.

    * Contribute to the development and growth of the consultancy through business development and client relationship management.

    Requirements

    Essential

    * Degree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering.

    * Minimum of 5 years' experience working within a structural engineering design consultancy.

    * Proven experience delivering residential structural engineering projects.

    * Strong knowledge of UK Building Regulations

    * Experience carrying out structural inspections and producing detailed structural reports.

    * Proficient in Tekla Tedds software.

    * Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    * Strong project management and organisational abilities.

    * Full UK driving licence.

    On Offer

    * Competitive salary and benefits package.

    * Flexible and supportive working environment.

    * Opportunity to work closely with the business owner and influence company strategy.

    * Genuine career progression with the potential to become a key leader within the business.

    * Future share ownership/equity participation opportunity linked to business growth and performance.

    * Varied and interesting project portfolio.

    * Ongoing professional development and support towards chartership if required.

Who is my client looking for?

They are looking for more than just a technically capable Engineer. They want someone who is ambitious, commercially aware, and excited by the opportunity to help build a successful consultancy. The ideal candidate will enjoy taking responsibility, developing client relationships and contributing to the long-term growth of the business while sharing in its success
