How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    SEN Teaching Assistant – Full Time (Secondary SEN School)
    Location: WR4, Worcester
    Pay: £90 – £110 per day (Based on experience)
    Contract: Full-time opportunity, Monday–Friday until the end of the academic year.

    Smile Education is proud to be supporting a welcoming and nurturing secondary SEN school in Worcester that is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team.

    This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate and patient individual to support students with a range of special educational needs, helping them to access learning, develop independence, and achieve their full potential. The role is ideal for candidates with SEN experience who are committed to making a meaningful difference in young people's lives.

    The Role

    • Support students with a range of special educational needs including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, and communication difficulties.
    • Work closely with teachers to deliver engaging and inclusive learning activities.
    • Provide one-to-one and small group support tailored to individual learning needs.
    • Assist in implementing EHCP targets and personalised learning plans.
    • Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing throughout the school day.
    • Encourage student engagement, independence, and confidence in learning.
    • Support students with social and emotional development.
    • Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCOs, therapists, and parents/carers.
    • Maintain accurate records of student progress and achievements.
    • Promote safeguarding, wellbeing, and inclusion at all times.

    Requirements

    • Experience working with children or young people with SEN (minimum 3 months).
    • Previous experience supporting Autism is highly desirable.
    • Experience within a school, care, youth work, or support setting is advantageous.
    • Patient, resilient, and caring nature with a genuine passion for supporting young people.
    • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
    • Committed to full-time work and able to provide consistency for students.
    • Able to provide a minimum of two references covering the past two years, including one that comments on your work with children or young people.
    • Hold an enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through Smile Education.
