How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Redbridge | Locum | £37.52 – £39.04 per hour | 3 Vacancies | Hybrid Working

Redbridge Council is seeking experienced Social Workers and Senior Social Workers to join their innovative Family Help Service. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a forward-thinking team that brings together Early Help, Community Social Work, and Child Protection Assessment to provide seamless support for children and families.

The Family Help model ensures children receive the right support at the right time, with no step-ups or step-downs between services. Practitioners work across the continuum of need, building strong relationships with families and delivering creative, strengths-based interventions that improve outcomes and keep children safe.

    What makes Family Help different?

Integrated support from Early Help through to statutory intervention

Manageable caseloads that allow for meaningful direct work

Relationship-based practice at the heart of service delivery

Creative and bespoke interventions tailored to family needs

Strong multi-agency working and community partnerships

Excellent opportunities for learning, development, and progression

    In this role, you will:

Work intensively with children and families to build trust and create positive change

Undertake assessments and develop plans for Child in Need, Child Protection, and Looked After Children cases

Manage a caseload across both Early Help and statutory services

Complete Section 17 and Section 47 assessments where required

Work collaboratively with Early Help practitioners, Family Support Workers, and partner agencies

Develop and implement creative interventions that reduce risk and promote resilience

Undertake court work, including pre-proceedings and post-proceedings processes

Participate in the team duty rota (1 week in every 8)

Contribute to innovative safeguarding strategies and best practice development

Maintain accurate and timely case recordings and reports

    What You’ll Need:

    Social Work England Registration

    Social Work Qualification

Minimum 1 year's post-qualified experience (more required for Senior Social Worker positions)

    Experience working within Children's Services

Strong understanding of safeguarding, Child in Need, Child Protection, and Looked After Children processes

Court work, pre-proceedings, or legal planning experience

Ability to manage complex cases and work effectively under pressure

Strong assessment, analytical, and communication skills

Commitment to relationship-based and strengths-focused practice
