How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Junior Buyer, Pharmaceuticals, up to £30K, Surrey

    We are recruiting a Junior Buyer to join a growing pharmaceutical wholesaler based in Surrey. This company is part of a larger international group with headquarters in Europe and a strong reputation within the pharmaceutical industry.

    With continued growth across the business, this is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their procurement career within a supportive team, gaining exposure to pharmaceutical sourcing, supplier management and commercial purchasing activities.

    The role:

    As Junior Buyer your responsibilities will include:

    • Obtaining pricing and availability information for pharmaceutical products from UK suppliers
    • Supporting the sales team by providing quotations within agreed turnaround times
    • Processing purchase orders
    • Maintaining procurement records and ensuring documentation is audit ready
    • Carrying out regulatory checks, including export restrictions and controlled drugs requirements
    • Liaising with suppliers to obtain stock availability and pricing information
    • Working closely with sales, accounts, customer service and warehouse teams
    • Supporting the wider procurement team with administrative and purchasing activities
    • Developing your procurement knowledge and taking on increased responsibility as your experience grows

    What we’re looking for:

    To be successful in the role of Junior Buyer you will ideally have:

    • Previous experience within purchasing, procurement, administration or supply chain
    • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office
    • Experience using SAGE would be advantageous but is not essential
    • Degree educated- additional certifications in procurement or related subjects would be beneficial
