How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Teaching Assistant

    Contract Type: Permanent

    Contract Term: Full-Time

    Salary: £25,942.00 Annually (FTE)

    Hours Per Week: 32.5

    Weeks Per Year: 39

    Closing Date: Midday, Thursday, 25th June 2026

    About this Role

    Term time only + 5 inset days (39 weeks per year).

    Hours: 35 per week; 8:30am to 3:30pm.

    The Role

    As a Teaching Assistant, you will work with our teaching and other support staff to mentor, support and inspire our pupils with curriculum and non-curriculum based learning.

    Throughout the day, you will help prepare the classroom and learning spaces, create displays and exhibitions of the children's work, and prepare for different activities.

    You will support pupils who need extra support to complete tasks or have difficulty engaging with schoolwork. You will also watch for challenging behaviour and help pupils promote positive behaviour while offering emotional support to help pupils in their emotional and social development, and you will inform other staff about any issues.

    You will be vital part of the team in helping them become independent learners, stay focused and engaged in the tasks and lessons set by the Teacher, help explain different tasks and activities, assist with a wide range of classroom and school-based activities, and provide 1:1 and group support to pupils. This may include listening to children read, reading to them, or telling them stories.

    About You

    Trustworthy, enthusiastic, energetic, well-organised, and self-motivated and a passionate individual dedicated to ensuring all children are supported to achieve their best.

    With excellent communication skills and have the ability to build strong and appropriate relationships with children and parents/carers.

    You must possess outstanding numeracy and literacy skills and have a genuine passion for making learning engaging and irresistible for children. Adaptability to support the individual needs of each child is crucial.

    Maintaining confidentiality and demonstrating a high level of professionalism are also key requirements.

    Experience working with children across the primary curriculum, including those with social, emotional, and mental health needs, is desirable, however if you have experience and a commitment to continuous improvement of your own practice, we would love to hear from you.
