How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Admin Technician – Support Services (Temporary)

    The Role:

    We're recruiting an Admin Technician on behalf of a well-established organisation based in Huntingdon, to cover a 12-week sickness absence. This is a full-time temporary position working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, paying £14.59 per hour — and an excellent opportunity for an organised, reliable administrator with a confident, professional manner.

    Based at a busy central laboratory site, you'll be supporting the Support Services Manager across a varied mix of administrative, procurement and front-of-house duties. No two days will be identical, and you'll be the first point of contact for a range of internal and external enquiries — so a calm, approachable manner and the ability to prioritise effectively are key.

    Main Responsibilities:

    * Providing day-to-day administrative support to the Support Services Manager

    * Greeting and signing in all visitors to site and supervising during their visit

    * Preparing meeting rooms and ensuring consumables are stocked and available

    * Notifying staff of deliveries and managing the receipt of goods

    * Carrying out procurement activities including SAP ordering and monitoring temporary staff contracts

    * Managing day-to-day operations of contracts for the supply of lab chemicals and equipment

    * Acting as the first point of contact for all ordering and delivery enquiries

    * Dealing with general lab service queries efficiently and professionally

    * Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of spend

    * Producing and maintaining monthly standard reports

    * Ensuring SAP is maintained accurately in line with training and guidance

    Skills/Experience:

    * Previous experience in an administrative, facilities or support services role

    * SAP experience — desirable but not essential

    * Confident telephone manner with strong customer service skills

    * Accurate data entry skills with experience using databases and spreadsheets

    * Able to communicate clearly and professionally with people at all levels

    * Reliable, committed and able to prioritise a varied workload effectively

    * Comfortable handling account queries and processing payments

    Hourly Rate & Working Hours:

    £14.59 per hour. Full-time, temporary position for approximately 12 weeks. 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Based in Huntingdon.
