How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Technical Complex Repairs Colleague

Newcastle under Lyme & surrounding areas

Be Part of Something New – Shape the Future of Safe, Healthy Homes at Aspire

At Aspire Housing, we’re investing in a brand-new specialist team dedicated to delivering high quality, compliant responses to complex repairs—with a strong focus on damp, mould and condensation management in line with Awaab’s Law.

This team will play a crucial role in ensuring our customers live in safe, healthy, and well maintained homes. If you’re passionate about doing things differently, improving processes, and using your expertise to shape a new service from the ground up, this is your moment.

    We are recruiting for:

Several Complex Repairs Operatives with strong multi-trade skills, excellent diagnostic capability, and a clear understanding of how to resolve and prevent damp, mould and condensation issues

    About the New Team

This newly formed team will be responsible for ensuring Aspire complies with emerging legal requirements while delivering a high quality, responsive, customer focused complex repairs service.

You’ll be part of a group that thrives on innovation, continuous improvement, and challenging “the way things have always been done.”

    Together, you will:

    * Deliver repairs with precision and consistency

    * Identify root causes and prevent future issues

    * Drive compliance with Awaab’s Law and wider housing standards

    * Help design new processes, systems and best practice approaches

    * Improve outcomes for customers and safeguard their wellbeing

    About the Role

As a expert colleague, you will carry out detailed inspections, diagnose root causes, and deliver multi-trade repairs that fully resolve issues in customers’ homes.

    Your work will include:

    * Investigation and accurate diagnosis of damp, mould and condensation

    * Delivery of effective repair solutions and preventative works

    * Multi-trade tasks across joinery, plastering, plumbing, decorating, general building and property maintenance

    * Completion of planned upgrades where required

    * Use of digital tools to record outcomes, triage cases and support compliance

    * Providing clear, supportive customer advice

    You will need:

    * Solid multi-trade experience and confidence handling complex repairs

    * Strong social housing, construction or property maintenance background

    * A proactive mindset and commitment to high quality workmanship

    * A full valid driving licence

    What We’re Looking For

    We want people who:

    * Are excited to shape a new team and new ways of working

    * Care deeply about improving customers’ homes and experiences

    * Are solutions focused, curious and open to change

    * Bring expertise but also want to keep learning

    * Thrive in a collaborative, supportive environment

    What We Offer

At Aspire, you’ll join an organisation that values its people and is committed to creating a place where everyone can thrive. You’ll benefit from:

    * 23 (25 for the Team leader) days annual leave + bank holidays + 3 Christmas concessionary days

    * Pension scheme & life insurance up to 3× salary when you are an active member

    * Employee Assistance Programme

    * Benefits & discounts platform

    * Volunteering days, wellbeing support and staff schemes

    * Options including holiday buy, tech and savings schemes, and medical cash plan

    * Long service awards and cycle to work scheme

    Ready to Make a Difference?

If you’re ready to shape the future with us, we’d love to hear from you.
