Salary: Depending on level of experience, £15.83 - £20.36 p/h (£35,000 - £45,000 per annum)
Overtime: Overtime when available is paid at premium rates (x 1.5 and x 2)
Hours: 42.5 hours per week, 8am – 5pm Monday to Friday

A leading specialist mechanical engineering company who has a great reputation in the industry for their experience, expertise and high level of workmanship are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Engineering Foreman to join the business.
The company undertakes repairs, servicing or breakdowns both in the workshop or onsite on a wide range of mechanical equipment, vehicles, plant and machinery.
Not only will you undertaking a hands-on role as an Engineer yourself, you will be the link between the management team and the engineers ensuring all working is carried out correctly and on time, offering support and guidance to the team.
This role would suit applicants who are a skilled engineer or mechanic who have team leader, supervisory, foreman or management experience
Product training will be given but we require applicants to have mechanical attitude and skills.
Main Duties as the Mechanical Engineering Foreman
Not only working as an Engineer yourself, you will be:
* Assist in organising and overseeing the day to day running of the workshop
* Communicating with the Managers, Service Department and providing regular updates of ongoing workshop activities
* Ensuring all parts are ready for the technicians.
* Ensure that all jobs are being undertaken in a professional and correct manner.
* Carrying out quality control checks
* Be the first point of escalation for any technical queries from members of your team
* Prevent and minimize the careless use of equipment and materials
* Make sure all the workshop tools and equipment are in good working order
* To be aware of, adhere to and promote all the housekeeping, tidying and Health and Safety regulations and policies applicable to your role and workshop environment
* Complete any other tasks as and when required
Skills and Previous Experience
* Previous experience of working on mechanical vehicles, HGV’s, mechanical equipment, plant, machinery, marine or hydraulics
* Any relevant formal qualifications or training would be advantageous i.e. Apprenticeship, City & Guilds / NVQ or HNC / HND in relevant engineering course
* Able to find / come up with solutions to fix equipment problems
* A positive and enthusiastic mindset with a real ‘can do’ attitude and strong team work ethic
* Level headed and calm regardless of the situation, demonstrating empathy, understanding and a professional persona, setting a good example to others at all times
* Excellent communication skills
* Strong performance as a Mechanical Engineer and able to act as a role model to your team to keep standards high
* Always approachable and helpful
* Methodical and organised
* Ability to problem solve and remain resilient and determined
* Flexible approach to work
Hours: 42.5 hours per week, 8am – 5pm Monday to Friday (flexibility required due to nature of the business)
