How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Senior Quantity Surveyor - Data Centre Fit Out

The sexiest market in construction right now is data centres.

Driven by the rise in AI, social media, and an increasingly online way of living, demand has never been higher.

Data Centres are fast paced, high spec builds with demanding programmes. There is serious money to be made, and everyone wants a slice of the pie.

That is why, several years ago, a company I have worked with over time made a strategic move.

With a trading history of 120 years and a global presence in construction, they launched a dedicated business unit focused solely on data centre fit out projects across the United Kingdom and Europe.

    And it has paid off.

    They are flying.

Not only that, they have real start up energy, entrepreneurial spirit, and a hunger for more.

They are now looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team and be part of this growth.

Backed financially and structurally by a global PLC, working for this business will give your career a steep learning curve, rapid career progression, and an organisational structure where your impact is visible.

You will work closely with key decision makers, offering invaluable networking and direct learning opportunities.

You will need to be flexible and have greater resilience than most. This role is not for the faint hearted. Things change quickly, sometimes daily. You need to get on with it and roll with the punches.

You will also need a sound knowledge of contracts, with the ability to identify and mitigate contractual risk. Delays on data centre projects are not an option, and the LAD’s are significant.

This is a key role offering both project level commercial management, including applications, payments, variations, and reporting, as well as the opportunity to influence commercial strategy as the business continues to grow. There is real potential for quick progression, international travel and a hybrid work arrangement. Yes you can also work at home too.

A specialist subcontractor that designs, manufactures, and installs fit out systems for data centres, are now entering a period of significant growth.

If you think you have what it takes to be part of their journey, apply today to this advert.

You can call me too, for a confidential chat. No CV? No problem lets talk
