How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    About the Role

The Clinical Dietitian sits at the heart of patient care within a specialist, private metabolic health environment. The role delivers evidence-based Medical Nutrition Therapy to patients with diabetes, obesity, metabolic syndrome, and related conditions. The successful candidate will work within a close-knit multidisciplinary team and take a technology-enabled, patient-centred approach to achieving measurable health outcomes.

    Role Summary

As Clinical Dietitian, you will carry out comprehensive nutritional assessments, design individualised care plans, and deliver Medical Nutrition Therapy across a range of complex metabolic conditions. You will work alongside endocrinologists, diabetologists, GPs and nurses to keep each patient's care coordinated and progressing. You will use digital health tools and continuous glucose monitoring data as part of your everyday practice, and you will build lasting therapeutic relationships with patients and their families throughout their journey with us.

    Core Responsibilities

    1. Patient Assessment and Nutritional Care

    • Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments covering dietary history, anthropometric measurements, and clinical and biochemical data.
    • Apply validated diagnostic tools to assess nutritional status, including malnutrition screening using MUST (Malnutrition Universal Screening Tool).
    • Develop individualised nutrition care plans aligned with each patient's medical conditions, treatment goals, and lifestyle.
    • Provide Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) for patients with diabetes, obesity, dyslipidaemia, hypertension, and other metabolic disorders.
    • Monitor and evaluate patient progress and adjust care plans as clinical evidence dictates.
    • Educate patients and carers on balanced nutrition, portion control, and sustainable dietary habits.

    2. Multidisciplinary Collaboration

    • Work alongside endocrinologists, diabetologists, GPs, diabetes educators, nurses and pharmacists to deliver integrated patient care.
    • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to joint care plan development.
    • Act as the nutrition lead within MDT settings, providing specialist dietary input across a range of clinical conditions.
    • Collaborate with the digital health team to interpret and act on continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) data and wearable device outputs.

    3. Technology-Enabled Nutrition Care

    • Use the clinic's electronic patient record (EPR) system to track and analyse patient progress and engagement.
    • Integrate data from wearable devices, mobile applications, and patient-reported outcomes into nutritional counselling sessions.
    • Support patients in adopting technology-enabled lifestyle management tools as part of their care pathway.

    4. Education and Prevention

    • Deliver one-to-one and group nutrition education sessions tailored to patient needs and health literacy levels.
    • Develop and contribute to patient education materials, workshops, and health awareness programmes.
    • Promote preventive nutrition strategies to reduce the risk of diabetes and metabolic complications.

    5. Quality Assurance and Professional Development

    • Maintain accurate and complete clinical records in line with HCPC standards of proficiency and organisational policy.
    • Participate in clinical audits, continuous quality improvement programmes, and CQC readiness activity.
    • Stay current with evidence, nutrition guidelines, and innovations in dietetics and metabolic care, including guidance from the British Dietetic Association (BDA).
    • Understand, follow, and actively support the clinic's infection prevention and control programmes.

    Key Requirements and Skills

    Registration and Qualifications

    • Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Dietitian. This is a mandatory requirement.
    • BSc (Hons) in Dietetics, or a Postgraduate Diploma or MSc in Dietetics, from a programme recognised by the BDA and approved for HCPC registration.

    Experience

    • Minimum two years of post-registration clinical experience, with a preference for backgrounds in diabetes, metabolic health, or lifestyle medicine.
    • Experience working in a private healthcare or technology-assisted care environment is an advantage.
    • Strong working knowledge of nutrition in chronic disease management across diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and obesity.
    • Proficiency in EPR systems and clinical data interpretation.

    Clinical Skills

    • Deep understanding of human physiology, biochemistry, and clinical pathology as they relate to metabolic health.
    • Ability to apply validated nutritional assessment tools and translate findings into clear care plans.

    Communication

    • Clear verbal and written communication skills in English.
    • High emotional intelligence and the ability to translate complex scientific information into accessible, actionable guidance for patients.
    • Culturally sensitive with the ability to support patients from a wide range of backgrounds.

    Professionalism and Conduct

    • Confident working autonomously while managing a high-volume, specialist caseload.
    • Calm and composed under pressure with a proactive, solutions-focused approach.
    • High level of discretion in handling patient information, in line with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

    Regulatory and Compliance Context

This role operates within the regulatory framework of the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the Care Quality Commission (CQC). The postholder must maintain active HCPC registration at all times, adhere to the clinic's infection prevention and control programmes, support patient safety standards, and maintain compliance with all relevant UK healthcare legislation including UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
