How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Are you a recent graduate with a passion for English, History, Geography, Religious Studies, Politics, or the wider Humanities?

Would you like to gain valuable classroom experience in a supportive secondary school before embarking on teacher training?

Tradewind Recruitment is partnering with welcoming and ambitious secondary schools in Camden looking to appoint passionate English & Humanities Teaching Assistants from September 2026. These full-time roles are ideal for aspiring teachers who want to develop their classroom skills, support students' academic progress, and gain invaluable experience before progressing into teacher training.

    The Role

As an English & Humanities Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with experienced teachers and support students across KS3 and KS4. You will play a key role in helping students engage with learning, build confidence, and achieve their full potential in subjects including English, History, Geography, Religious Studies, and Citizenship.

    Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

Supporting students during English and Humanities lessons
Working one-to-one and in small groups to improve literacy, confidence, and academic attainment
Assisting students with classwork, coursework, revision sessions, and exam preparation
Supporting the delivery of engaging lessons across English Language, English Literature, and Humanities subjects
Encouraging positive learning behaviours and active classroom participation
Supporting students with additional learning needs where required
Assisting teachers with lesson preparation, resources, and classroom activities
Promoting reading, discussion, critical thinking, and independent learning
Building positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents
Gaining invaluable school-based experience ahead of teacher training

Who the School is Looking For

The school is keen to hear from enthusiastic and motivated graduates who are genuinely passionate about education and supporting young people.

    You should have:

A degree in English, History, Geography, Politics, Religious Studies, Sociology, Journalism, Creative Writing, or a related subject
Strong academic credentials and a passion for education
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
A positive, proactive, and approachable personality
A genuine interest in becoming a teacher in the future
Previous experience working with young people (tutoring, mentoring, coaching, youth work, or school experience) is desirable but not essential

    Why Apply?

Join a supportive and welcoming secondary school in Camden
Gain valuable classroom experience ideal for teacher training applications
Work alongside experienced teachers and school leaders who will support your development
    Full-time, term-time only role with a September 2026 start
Opportunity for long-term progression and potential teacher training routes
Make a real difference to students' confidence, progress, literacy, and educational outcomes
Be part of a positive school environment where graduates are encouraged to grow and succeed
