Yard Operative / Forklift Driver
Location: Aberdeen
Duration: 3-Month Contract
Rate: Up to £18.00 per hour
PE Global is currently seeking an experienced Yard Operative / Forklift Driver to join a leading organisation within the energy sector based in Aberdeen.
Key Responsibilities
- Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently.
- Load and offload inspection lines and associated equipment.
- Receive incoming materials and complete all required documentation and records.
- Record serial numbers and other relevant information for incoming and outgoing materials.
- Maintain accurate records of work orders, running numbers, and asset movements.
- Select, prepare, and bundle materials in accordance with written instructions.
- Conduct asset counts and provide inventory reports.
Health, Safety & Environmental Responsibilities
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised yard environment.
- Follow all company health, safety, and environmental procedures.
- Ensure materials are handled, stored, and moved safely.
- Support continuous improvement in workplace safety and housekeeping standards.
Quality Responsibilities
- Take ownership of work activities and maintain high standards of accuracy.
- Participate fully in training and development opportunities.
- Comply with all Quality Management System requirements and company procedures.
- Follow relevant operating procedures, process maps, quality plans, and work instructions.
- Contribute to process improvements and quality initiatives where required.
- Support internal and external audits.
- Participate in quality investigations, corrective actions, and follow-up activities as required.
Essential Requirements
- Valid Forklift Certificate for operating forklifts up to 16 tonnes.
- Previous experience in a yard, warehouse, logistics, or materials handling environment.
- Strong understanding of safe lifting and material handling practices.
- Competent in the use of computer systems for reporting, record keeping, and business communications.
- Good attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate documentation.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable
- Experience within the oil & gas, energy, manufacturing, or industrial sectors.
- Inventory control and asset tracking experience.
- Experience working within quality-controlled environments.
