How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Operating within manufacturing, logistics, warehousing, e-commerce and industrial markets, the business provides a broad portfolio of protective packaging consumables, packaging automation and operational efficiency solutions.
    This Business Development Manager role has been created to accelerate growth through the acquisition of profitable new customers and strategic accounts.
    Business Development Manager Overview
    Working as part of a national sales team, the Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying, developing and securing new business opportunities.
    The successful candidate will take a consultative approach to selling, engaging with senior decision-makers to understand operational challenges and deliver commercially focused solutions. Success will be measured by the ability to generate new revenue, develop profitable customer relationships and consistently win business in competitive markets.
    This Business Development Manager role is ideally suited to a highly motivated hunter who enjoys building pipelines, opening conversations and creating opportunities where competitors cannot.
    Key Responsibilities for the Business Development Manager:
    * Identify, target and secure new business opportunities across manufacturing, logistics, warehousing, industrial and e-commerce sectors.
    * Generate and develop a consistent pipeline of qualified prospects through proactive business development activity.
    * Engage with Operations Directors, Procurement Managers, Supply Chain Leaders and business owners.
    * Sell a range of packaging consumables, protective packaging solutions and packaging automation systems.
    * Deliver consultative sales presentations focused on efficiency, sustainability, cost reduction and productivity improvements.
    * Develop tailored commercial proposals and negotiate profitable agreements.
    * Manage newly acquired customer accounts during their first year to maximise growth and profitability.
    * Work collaboratively with internal teams and distribution partners to support successful customer onboarding.
    * Monitor market activity, competitor movements and emerging opportunities within target sectors.
    Person Specification
    * Proven track record in Business Development, Area Sales, Technical Sales or New Business Sales roles.
    * Creative and proactive approach to prospecting and lead generation - we want to hear from candidates that use innovative approaches to open doors to new opportunities.
    * Demonstrable success winning new customers and generating revenue growth.
    * Experience selling into manufacturing, industrial, warehousing, logistics, engineering, distribution or related B2B sectors.
    * Strong commercial acumen and consultative sales skills.
    * Ability to communicate effectively with senior stakeholders and decision-makers.
    * Self-motivated, resilient and capable of managing a national territory independently.
    * Stable career history demonstrating progression and achievement.
    * Full UK driving licence.
    * Please note this role can be based anywhere within the UK
