How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    The Financial Controller will play a key role in overseeing all accounting and financial operations, ensuring compliance and providing strategic financial insights. This role is based in Central Manchester and offers a blend of office and remote working.

    Description

    Oversee and manage the day-to-day accounting and financial operations of the business.
    Prepare accurate financial reports, forecasts, and budgets to support strategic decision-making.
    Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
    Coordinate and lead the preparation of statutory accounts and liaise with external auditors.
    Support the senior leadership team with financial insights and recommendations.
    Implement and improve financial systems, processes, and controls.
    Manage cash flow, working capital, and financial risk effectively.
    Supervise and mentor the finance team to ensure the delivery of high-quality output.Profile

    A successful Financial Controller should have:

    Professional accounting qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, or CIMA.
    Knowledge of working in a complex, multi-entity or project-based environment - Or, knowledge of a private-equity or VC-backed environment - Essential
    Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
    Ability to communicate financial information effectively to non-financial stakeholders.
    Leadership skills to manage and develop a team.Job Offer

    Salary between £80,000 and £85,000 per annum.
    Hybrid working arrangement: two days in the office and three days working from home.
    30 days of annual leave, plus bank holidays.
    Non-contributory pension scheme with a 12.5% employer contribution.
