The role
As a Permanent SEND Teacher, you will deliver highly adapted and engaging lessons to pupils with a range of additional needs, supporting both academic progress and personal development.
You will take responsibility for:
* Planning and delivering differentiated lessons for pupils with SEND
* Supporting learners with ASC, SEMH, ADHD, MLD, SLD or complex needs
* Contributing to EHCPs, IEPs and progress reviews
* Creating a calm, safe and nurturing classroom environment
* Working closely with TAs, SENCOs, therapists and families
* Supporting emotional, social and educational development
What you need
It is ESSENTIAL for the successful candidate to have:
* QTS or QTLS
* Experience teaching or supporting pupils with SEND
* Strong behaviour management and communication skills
* A patient, empathetic and adaptable approach
Other DESIRABLE skills include:
* Team Teach, Makaton, PECS or specialist SEND training
* Experience in special schools, PRUs or SEND units
* Experience contributing to EHCP annual reviews
