How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    B1 Licensed Engineer - Airbus Helicopters

    Locations: Shawbury, Oxford or RAF Valley
    Pay: £60.00 per hour PAYE / £80.26 per hour Umbrella
    Contract: 6 months (likely extension)

    About the Opportunity

    Guidant Global is partnering with Airbus Helicopters to recruit experienced B1 Licensed Engineers to support critical rotorcraft maintenance operations across multiple UK sites.

    This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a diverse fleet of Airbus helicopters in a high-performing, safety-focused environment, where your expertise will directly contribute to keeping aircraft mission-ready and operational.

    What You'll Be Doing

    As a B1 Licensed Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring aircraft safety and performance. Your responsibilities will include:

    Certifying maintenance and repair work on Airbus rotorcraft (including AS350, AS355, EC135, EC145 and more)
    Carrying out scheduled and unscheduled inspections in line with regulatory standards
    Performing maintenance across airframe, powerplant, mechanical and electrical systems
    Supervising and certifying the work of maintenance fitters
    Supporting hangar operations, including aircraft movement and general upkeep
    Ensuring full compliance with UK CAA regulations (Part 145, Part M)
    What We're Looking For

    We're keen to speak with candidates who bring both technical expertise and a collaborative mindset:
    Essential

    Part 66 B1.3 Licence (Turbine Rotorcraft)
    Strong knowledge of engine and airframe systems
    Experience working in aircraft maintenance environments (ideally rotary)
    Ability to work independently and as part of a teamDesirable

    Rotary-wing aircraft experience
    Type ratings (training can be provided for the right candidate)We also welcome applications from engineers currently working towards their B1.3 licence with strong hands-on experience.

    Working Pattern & Environment

    40 hours per week, typically between 07:00 - 19:00
    Potential shift pattern: 7 days on / 7 days off
    Occasional UK travel to support operational needsSecurity & Compliance

    Due to the nature of this role, you must be eligible for:

    BPSS and SC clearance
    DBS checks
    Compliance with ITAR and export regulations
