How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Salary up to £45,000 + Bonus + Tronc & Tips + Live-In Accommodation

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious and passionate Head Chef to join a successful, still growing, group of quality gastro pubs and hotels in one of the most beautiful parts of the UK.

Located close to the Conwy Valley and on the edge of Snowdonia National Park, this is a fantastic opportunity to combine an exceptional culinary career with an enviable quality of life. Surrounded by breathtaking scenery and some of the country's finest walking and outdoor adventure destinations, the site is a popular destination for both visitors and locals alike.

Part of a highly successful and growing hospitality group, the business is renowned for delivering exceptional hospitality, quality ales, great wines and delicious food served in a warm and welcoming environment. With stunning properties located across the UK, the company has built an outstanding reputation and is equally passionate about developing and investing in its people.

    The Role

Food is at the very heart of this operation and we're looking for a Head Chef who shares that passion.

You'll bring creativity, energy and exceptionally high standards, leading from the front and working closely with your kitchen team to consistently deliver fresh, seasonal dishes that keep guests coming back time and time again.

This is a hands-on role within a busy, food-led operation with bedrooms, where quality, consistency and guest satisfaction are paramount.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Leading, motivating and developing an experienced kitchen team.

    * Creating a culture of excellence and maintaining the highest food standards.

    * Ensuring every dish is prepared and presented consistently and professionally.

    * Managing the day-to-day running of the kitchen and maintaining smooth service at all times.

    * Working closely with suppliers and overseeing stock control and ordering.

    * Taking full responsibility for food GP, labour costs, wastage and kitchen budgets.

    * Driving efficiency while maintaining outstanding quality.

    * Remaining calm and organised during busy service periods.

    * Ensuring compliance with all food safety and hygiene standards.

    * Playing a key role in delivering exceptional dining experiences that encourage guests to return again and again.

    About You

We're looking for an experienced and passionate chef with strong leadership skills and a genuine love of fresh food and hospitality.

    You will ideally have:

    * Previous experience as a Head Chef within a quality gastro pub, hotel or restaurant environment.

    * A passion for producing high-quality dishes using fresh locally sourced ingredients.

    * Strong leadership and people development skills.

    * Experience managing food GP, labour costs and kitchen budgets.

    * Excellent organisational skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

    * A calm and professional approach under pressure.

    * A desire to build and develop a successful kitchen team.

    Why Join?

This company genuinely values its people and offers excellent career progression opportunities within a growing group.

    Benefits include:

    * Salary up to £45,000 depending on experience.

    * Attractive bonus scheme.

    * Share of tronc and tips.

    * Live-in accommodation available if required.

    * Generous discounts across the group.

    * Ongoing training and development opportunities.

    * Excellent long-term career prospects within a successful and expanding business.

    * The opportunity to live and work in one of the UK's most stunning locations.

This is far more than just a Head Chef role. It's an opportunity to join a company that is passionate about food, committed to developing its people and offers the chance to enjoy an outstanding lifestyle in the heart of North Wales.

If you are passionate about great food, enjoy leading teams and are looking for your next challenge with a forward-thinking hospitality business, we'd love to hear from you.
