How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Reports To:

    QA Manager

    Hours of Work:

    08:30 - 17:00 MONDAY TO FRIDAY (1/2-hour lunch break)

    JOB PURPOSE

    To inspect, monitor, and ensure that products conform to customer defined specifications and drawing requirements.

    To maintain a high attention for detail and an appreciation of the exceptional working standards required within the Aerospace industry.

    PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES

    *

    Inspection of aircraft components, ground support equipment and raw materials.

    *

    To use relevant inspection equipment, software, drawings & models.

    *

    Undertake first and final inspection of machined parts and assemblies.

    *

    Perform accurate in-process quality inspection and maintain quality inspection records.

    *

    Create and submit First Article Inspection Reports.

    *

    Complete supplier component inspection and FAI buy-off.

    *

    Identify, report, and assist with the resolution of quality issues or non-conformities.

    *

    Collaborate with production teams and engineers to provide feedback and assist in resolving quality concerns.

    *

    Engage with customer and supplier representatives, and their relative quality teams.

    *

    Participate in audits, quality system reviews and customer quality inspection as required.

    *

    Ensuring inspection equipment is calibrated and instigating re-calibration if required.

    SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES

    *

    Proven experience as a Quality Inspector (at least 3 years).

    *

    Competent in the use of inspection equipment and quality control processes.

    *

    Good working knowledge of AS9100 & AS9102

    *

    Solid understanding in interpretating complex engineering drawings and GD&T requirements.

    *

    Knowledge in the principles of machining and assembly techniques.

    *

    Ability to solve problems and find solutions when presented with non-conforming products.

    *

    Good communication skills, both written and verbal.

    *

    Willing to travel within the UK if required.
