How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    A respected independent fire consultancy is seeking a Fire Risk Assessor to join their growing team in Manchester. This is an excellent opportunity for a Fire Risk Assessor looking to work across a varied portfolio of commercial, residential and public sector properties.

    The successful Fire Risk Assessor will undertake Type 1 and Type 3 fire risk assessments, produce detailed reports and provide practical fire safety advice to a wide range of clients.

    The Fire Risk Assessor will be supported by experienced fire professionals and benefit from ongoing professional development. This Fire Risk Assessor position offers exposure to a broad range of projects throughout the North West.

    The Fire Risk Assessor's Role

    The Fire Risk Assessor will:

    Conduct fire risk assessments across diverse property portfolios
    Produce comprehensive reports and action plans
    Liaise with clients regarding fire safety improvements
    Support compliance with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order
    Travel throughout the region as required

    The Fire Risk Assessor

    The Fire Risk Assessor should have:

    Experience carrying out fire risk assessments
    Membership of IFSM, IFE or similar body
    Strong report writing skills
    Full UK driving licence
    Level 4 Fire Risk Assessment qualification desirable
