How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

We are supporting the recruitment of an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join a growing engineering team within a specialist equipment and technology environment. This is a hands-on role where you will be involved in the full lifecycle of product development, from initial concept through to design, build, testing, commissioning, and client support.

This is an opportunity for an engineer who enjoys solving complex technical problems, working closely with multidisciplinary teams, and seeing their designs delivered into real-world applications.

    Key Responsibilities:

    * Research and develop electrical design concepts, drawings, and technical specifications using appropriate design software

    * Design and develop solutions for equipment and process-based engineering projects

    * Produce technical drawings, calculations, and supporting documentation for feasibility and ROM cost estimation

    * Ensure all drawings and components are correctly logged within MRP/ERP systems, including creation of new part numbers where required

    * Support the build, assembly, commissioning, and testing of equipment both in-house and on-site

    * Provide technical support during installation and commissioning activities, including UK and occasional international travel

    * Deliver training and technical guidance to client engineers and operators

    * Provide responsive technical support to customers via telephone and email

    * Collaborate with internal engineering, production, and project teams to ensure design intent is achieved

    * Support product development discussions and contribute to continuous improvement of designs and processes

    * Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging technologies, engineering methods, and industry best practice

    * Ensure compliance with relevant engineering standards and customer requirements

    Skills & Experience Required:

    * Degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or related discipline, or relevant industry experience

    * Min 1 year experience in electrical design engineering within a manufacturing, machinery, automation, or equipment environment

    * Proficiency in electrical design software (e.g. AutoCAD Electrical or similar)

    * Strong understanding of electrical systems, schematic design, and control principles

    * Experience working on full project lifecycle from concept through to production and commissioning

    * Ability to interpret technical data and translate requirements into practical engineering solutions

    * Experience working with manufacturing or production teams in a hands-on engineering environment

    * Understanding of design for manufacture and assembly principles

    * Experience using MRP/ERP systems and managing technical documentation

This role is only open to candidates who have the existing right to work in the UK. Unfortunately, sponsorship is not available for this position, so applicants requiring visa sponsorship cannot be considered
