How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Quantity Surveyor

    Salary: Up to £70,000 + Package

    Are you a commercially minded Quantity Surveyor looking for a role where you can take ownership, develop your career and work within a supportive, professional team?

    We are working with a growing consultancy that is looking to appoint a strong Quantity Surveyor who is capable of managing projects commercially from start to finish whilst being supported by an experienced commercial team.

    This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys autonomy, client interaction and the flexibility of hybrid working.

    The Role

    You will be responsible for the commercial management of projects throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring successful delivery and strong financial performance.

    Key responsibilities include:

    • Preparation and management of CVRs

    • Valuations and applications for payment

    • Variations and change control

    • Subcontractor procurement and management

    • Cost reporting and forecasting

    • Final accounts

    • Contract administration

    • Client and stakeholder liaison

    • Commercial support to project delivery teams

    About You

    • Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor

    • Strong commercial awareness

    • Experience producing CVRs and managing project finances

    • Understanding of JCT and/or NEC contracts

    • Ability to manage workloads independently

    • Confident communicator with good client-facing skills

    • Ambitious, proactive and keen to develop
