How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Supply Chain Executive

    Location: Stoke-on-Trent
    Salary: Up to £40,000 DOE
    Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm

    Role

    An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Supply Chain Executive to join a well-established and growing business based in Stoke-on-Trent. Operating within a fast-paced commercial environment, the organisation works with a diverse customer base across the UK and overseas.

    Key Responsibilities

    Manage the purchasing of products in a timely, cost-effective manner
    Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules and supplier agreements while maintaining quality and service standards
    Monitor and maintain optimal stock levels to support customer demand and minimise waste
    Support supplier onboarding, approval and performance management processes
    Coordinate import activities, ensuring all documentation and compliance requirements are met
    Liaise with sales, warehouse and finance teams to align supply with demand and support operational efficiency
    Manage the booking-in and clearance of inbound deliveries
    Provide cover and support for warehouse administration functions when required
    Liaise with HMRC and relevant customs authorities regarding import processes and compliance
    Identify opportunities to improve supply chain performance, cost control and operational effectiveness
    Essential

    Previous experience within a distribution, logistics or supply chain environment
    Proven end-to-end supply chain and procurement experience
    Strong stock management and inventory control experience
    Good IT and systems skills with the ability to work across multiple platforms
    Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
    Ability to build effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders
    Desirable

    Supply Chain, Procurement or Logistics qualification
    Advanced Excel skills
    Experience managing imports and exports
    Knowledge of customs processes and documentation
