How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Enpure Ltd are a progressive organisation in water and wastewater services and are looking to recruit a, self-motivated and engaging Principal Mechanical Engineer with strong analytical skills and experience in technical design, delivery and management of water and wastewater engineering projects.
    Your New Role:
    Lead and contribute on feasibility, outline and detailed design projects.
    You will be responsible for the design of mechanical installations, typically including municipal water and wastewater treatment works, pumping stations, ventilation systems, penstocks and valves, odour control systems, chemical dosing systems, pipework etc.
    Other duties to include:
    * Interface with clients and collaborators in design and planning
    * You will carry out visits to site to complete site surveys and the support of liaisons with clients, government authorities, contractors, suppliers.
    * You will integrate with others disciplines within the business and external to agree and confirm a desired design
    * Support bidding and be proactive in the winning of work.
    * You will be tasked with delivering to an agreed budget, programme and quality
    * Take ownership of specific 'skill areas' or activities within our technical knowledge networks.
    * Supporting and mentoring, and provide technical input which may serve as technical advisor to the team
    * You will seek innovation and trial new methods, being inquisitive by nature
    * Provides input to the development of engineering specification and procedures to meet requirements.
    * Opportunity to present your project work at company meetings or at conferences
    * Working with and developing our digital tools and products.
    Qualifications and Experience
    * Degree-qualified with a mechanical engineering bias
    * You will have extensive UK water/wastewater industry experience.
    * You will have a blend of leadership and technical expertise.
    * You will have experience of managing and mentoring teams and/or individuals and/or projects, potentially split across disciplines and locations.
    * You will have a desire to assist in developing a team of junior engineers.
    * A developing external profile and reputation; a desire and willingness to raise the profile of oneself and the Company.
    * Willingness to contribute to and develop our technical knowledge networks.
    Preferred Qualifications
    * Water and wastewater treatment project experience across feasibility, outline, detailed design, construction support extremely desirable
    * Experience using a 3D Design tool and other proprietary software products
    * Chartered member of a recognised engineering institution
