How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Join a well-established manufacturer producing high quality products for specialist industries worldwide
This is a rare opportunity to join one of the region’s leading precision engineering companies on the outskirts of Witney.
The company normally only hires during growth, following a promotion or when someone retires so make sure you get in touch while you can.
Your Job Role - Quality Assurance Inspector
We are recruiting for a Quality Assurance Inspector to join a successful specialist engineering manufacturer producing premium stainless steel mechanical equipment for a wide range of customers.
Working as part of the well established Quality Team, you will play an important role in ensuring products meet the highest quality standards before reaching customers.
With full support of the Quality Engineer and Quality Manager, you will be:

Carrying out Goods-In inspections to check incoming materials against engineering drawings, specifications and certification requirements.
Supporting non-conformance investigations and preparing Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) where required.
Completing routine quality inspections throughout production, manufacturing and assembly areas.
Producing certification packs and quality documentation for finished products.
Managing calibration activities for measuring equipment, including in-house calibration and coordination of external service providers.
Supporting continuous improvement activities, quality audits, 5S initiatives and process improvement projects.
Your Skills and Experience - Quality Assurance Inspector

Previous experience as a Quality Assurance Inspector, QA Inspector, Quality Inspector, Quality Technician, Inspection Technician, Goods-In Inspector, Production Inspector, Manufacturing Inspector or similar quality-focused role within engineering or manufacturing.
Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and confidently use inspection equipment including vernier callipers, micrometres, height gauges, surface plates and gauges.
Experience of calibration management, quality documentation and Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word and Outlook.
Knowledge of ISO quality standards, experience of SAP, ERP systems, CMM, Shadowgraph and/or hydraulic products would be advantageous but not essential.
    Benefits and Company Information
This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected local engineering business with a strong reputation for manufacturing premium products for specialist customers across multiple industries. The company offers long-term job security, ongoing investment and genuine career development opportunities for employees who want to build their future within a growing organisation.
    Benefits include:

    Premium pay and benefits package
Bonus scheme valued at roughly £2,500
    8.5% company pension contribution
Life Assurance Scheme 3 x annual salary at no cost to you
    Generous sickness policy
Long service payments and extra holiday
    Modern, smart and clean premises
All the equipment and support you need to produce your best work
Permanent full-time position with long-term career prospects
Monday to Thursday 8:30am–5:00pm and Friday 8:30am–4:00pm
Opportunity to work with high-quality engineered products and modern manufacturing processes
    Supportive and collaborative team environment
Involvement in continuous improvement projects and quality initiatives
Stable and well-established business with a strong commitment to quality, safety and employee development
    … and much more!
Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 8:30am to 5:00pm and Friday 8:30am to 4:00pm.

If you think this might be the job for you…
Great, I’m pleased you’ve read this far. I’d love to hear from you.

You can either use the ‘apply’ button on this advert to send in your CV or send an email asking for more information directly to tandrews(at)(url removed) or call and ask for Tom Andrews on (phone number removed).

We’ll start with an informal chat where you can ask any questions you like to see if this job might be what you’re looking for. If you’re still keen, we’ll arrange an appointment for you to meet with the Manager, which will include a factory tour so you can see what the job’s really like, what the machines are like, and take a look at the components and facilities too (I think you’ll be impressed!).

    I don’t have a CV…
Please don’t worry, not everyone has a CV. I’ll be happy to help.

    A note about confidentiality
Please be assured that I work in complete confidence.
