How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Senior Air Conditioning Engineer

    Location: Stourbridge / Field Based
    Job Type: Permanent, Full Time
    Salary: £35,000 - £60,000 DOE + Vehicle + Overtime

    We are currently recruiting for an experienced Air Conditioning Engineer to join a growing HVAC business.

    This is a hands-on position that combines service, maintenance and fault-finding duties with responsibility for supporting and coordinating a team of engineers. The role would suit a strong Air Conditioning Engineer looking to step into a leadership role while remaining technically involved.

    The Role

    * Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on a range of air conditioning and refrigeration systems.

    * Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs on split systems, VRV/VRF systems, heat pumps and chillers.

    * Attending reactive breakdowns and providing technical support.

    * Assisting with commissioning and handover of new installations.

    * Producing service reports and recommendations.

    * Conducting site surveys and equipment condition assessments.

    * Supporting and mentoring junior engineers and apprentices.

    * Assisting with scheduling and coordination of engineering activities.

    * Liaising with clients and ensuring a high level of customer service is maintained.

    Requirements

    * Minimum 5 years' experience within the Air Conditioning and Refrigeration industry.

    * NVQ or City & Guilds Level 2/3 in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning.

    * F-Gas Category 1 Certification.

    * Strong fault-finding and diagnostic experience.

    * Experience working on split systems, VRV/VRF systems, chillers and heat pumps.

    * Full UK Driving Licence.

    * Strong communication and organisational skills.

    Desirable

    * Previous experience leading or supervising engineers.

    * IPAF, PASMA and CSCS.

    * SSSTS or SMSTS.

    * Manufacturer training from Daikin, Mitsubishi, Toshiba, Fujitsu, LG or Panasonic.

    Package

    * £35,000 - £45,000 for competent engineers looking to progress.

    * £50,000 - £60,000 for experienced Senior Engineers.
