How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Accounts Assistant | Rochdale Office Based | £30,000 – £32,000 | Full Time | 31 Days Annual Leave

    We are currently recruiting for a highly organised Accounts Assistant to join a well-established and growing construction business based in Rochdale. This is a permanent position working Monday to Thursday 8am-5pm and Fridays 8am-4.30pm fully office based. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in finance within a supportive environment. Formal qualifications aren’t essential—this employer is far more interested in your experience, attitude, and work ethic.

    As Accounts Assistant you will play a key role within a small yet busy accounts function, supporting with purchase ledger, payroll preparation, and general finance administration. This is more than just a job—it’s a chance to develop your skills and grow within the business, with scope to expand your role across the wider accounts team over time.

    What You’ll Be Doing

    Processing and reconciling on average 30-40 supplier purchase invoices per day
    Matching invoices to purchase orders and resolving discrepancies
    Maintaining accurate supplier records and reconciliations
    Reviewing and approving employee timesheets
    Preparing payroll data including hours, overtime, and adjustments
    Supporting weekly and monthly payroll processes
    Managing the accounts inbox and supplier communications
    Maintaining organised digital and physical filing systems
    Providing administrative and PA support to senior finance leadership
    Assisting with month-end processes and ad hoc accounts tasks
    What We’re Looking For

    Previous experience in an accounts administration role
    Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
    Excellent data entry skills with previous knowledge of invoice processing useful
    Confident using Excel and accounting systems (Sage 50 preferred but not essential)
